On 15th November 2000 - The Southern Cross Cable Network..the 30,000 km world's longest fibre-optic cable connecting Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the U.S. state of Hawaii went live.. Now, must of you would perhaps think that internet connectivity is bounced off as signals from satellites. But that is not how these seamless connections work. Infact, there are submarine cables that are placed on the sea floor that actually make these possible… But how? Lets’s take a look.
